The latest addition to Patriot Wood is a wooden Colorado state flag. We’re really pleased with how it turned out! This handmade wood flag is currently available in three sizes—check them out here.
Colorado’s current flag was designed and adopted in 1911. When it was originally adopted, legislature didn’t specify several important aspects—including the size of the “C” and the shades of red and blue. This caused variation in early Colorado flags, until the official description was updated to specify these aspects, first in 1929 and again in 1964.
The flag is incorporated into Colorado’s state-highway signs. The regular appearance of the state flag on these markers makes it easy to remember.
There are four colors on the Colorado state flag—here’s what they mean:
- The blue represents Colorado skies.
- The gold represents either the sun or the gold ore traditionally mined in the state.
- The white represents the state’s snowcapped mountains.
- The red represents the color of Colorado’s earth.
While staying true to this flag’s design, we also added the signature Patriot Wood touch. Both the “C” and the gold circle have been elevated to add additional detail and perspective to the flag. These rounded objects were carefully cut with a scroll saw and then sanded by hand to ensure a perfect fit. Hand-picked cedar, long-lasting paints, and quality construction will ensure that you enjoy the Colorado wooden flag for many years.
