The Gadsden flag is named after the American general Christopher Gadsden, who designed the yellow flag in 1775 during the American revolution. The flag depicts a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike with the words "DONT TREAD ON ME" as a warning. It was also used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag. The use of rattlesnakes as a symbol of the American colonies can be traced back to the publications of Benjamin Franklin.
This Patriot Wood flag has a raised element providing a 3D look. Each flag we produce is replicated to match the flag's true colors and dimensions.
