This Gadsden Natural Wood Flag incorporates hand-picked cedar with a coat of polyurethane.  Snake and other details are hand painted.  This flag is for indoor display only. 

The Gadsden flag is named after the American general Christopher Gadsden, who designed the yellow flag in 1775 during the American revolution. The flag depicts a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike with the words "DONT TREAD ON ME" as a warning.  It was also used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag.  The use of rattlesnakes as a symbol of the American colonies can be traced back to the publications of Benjamin Franklin.
